Introducing Visit Prishtina
Overview

The travel and tourist guide Visit Prishtina® (www.visitprishtina.com) is an English web publication, compiled by Giskos group of companies, with the aim of offering a compact and systematic overview of tourism in Prishtina.

Visit Prishtina is a continually expanding and dynamic pool of information. The texts are written by experts and are supplemented by archive materials and pictures taken by professional photographers. The project aspires to show Prishtina as it is by presenting objective information and help people make the most out of their stay there.

Visit Prishtina consists of two hierarchical levels: the first derives from uniform principle of categorisation, and contains illustrated and edited overviews. The second level offers more thorough treatment on narrower topics.

Visit Prishtina should be viewable in most new web browsers. It is certainly true of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera and Firefox varieties. In other cases the usage may depend on the browser’s support for JavaScript and other codes used in Visit Prishtina.

All the material in Visit Prishtina is copyrighted and protects by international laws. It must not be copied and used without prior permission by the authors, in particular if it serves any business interests. When permission is given, all materials must be properly referenced to Visit Prishtina (www.visitprishtina.com). Help

Instruction for use

The travel and tourist guide Visit Prishtina was designed with the end-user in mind, with the aim of having a highly user-friendly website. As a result, the website is easy to navigate and is intuitive. However, if you are having difficulties in finding what you want, we advice you read the following instructions. Do not forget to email us any suggestion for improving the website.

General principles

Visit Prishtina is a closed internet environment, i.e. the user can navigate between different sub-divisions and articles, but there are no links leading outside of the website. This ensures the reliability of the website as well as the standard of the information on offer.

The guide is currently only available in English.

The articles are located on three levels, depending on how general or specific the topic is. Choosing one main topic, the user can read an introductory article and/or the main articles where narrower Prishtina tourism topics are presented.

Opening page

This is the first web page you see when you enter the Visit Prishtina (www.visitprishtina.com) travel and tourist guide. The user can read the general overview, go to the main Visit Prishtina introductory article, access the search engine, visit other Giskos (www.giskos.com) websites, and send feedback to the Visit Prishtina editors.

Main window

In order to make Visit Prishtina guide more user-friendly, we use similar design and appearance for all introductory and main articles. Supplementary texts open in separate windows with the same design. Clicking on the Visit Prishtina logo at the top of the page, the user can return to the opening page. Also at the top of the page are three quicklinks: contact, A to Z index, and help. Search engine is situated just below the quicklinks. The main sections of the website can be accessed by clicking on the left-hand side of the page. The right-hand side of the page contains links to similar articles, sponsor information, and other relevant links. The text of the article appears in the middle of the window. Just above the text a picture from Prishtina is displayed with relevant description.

By pointing at the ‘Print’ icon at the top of each article, the user will reformat it, cancel the menu and illustrations, and the result is revealed in a new window. The user can thus get a clean printout of the selected article.

Search Engine

When visiting a website, there is nothing worse than searching for the search engine. Thus, our search engine appears at the top right-hand corner of each page, except the opening page where it appears below the general overview. The search engine is powered by Atomz, and can be used to search all articles within Visit Prishtina guide. The search results are exceptionally accurate, but you could make it even better by thinking of good keywords.

Feedback

We at Visit Prishtina believe that a good website is the one that can fulfils the needs of the users, not the builders. It is because of this that we pay particular attention to all the feedback we receive from you. To send your comments and observations to the team designing and editing Visit Prishtina guide click at the ‘contact’ link at the top of each web page. A special window will open for you to type in your comments. Thank You.
